Škoda takes top spots in satisfaction survey

10/30/2013
Two different model Škodas took out the top spots in the 2013 J.D. Power satisfaction awards. In a survey of 116 cars, the Škoda Superb came first, closely followed by the Škoda Yeti.
The Superb has improved from its solid fourth place showing from 2012, while the Yeti featured in the survey for the first time.
The J.D. Power satisfaction survey captures the views of 16,000 people in the UK who own cars that are between one and three years old. Only models with more than 4000 sales and 50 survey responses are included in the final list.
Each owner ranks their vehicle on 66 criteria. The criteria are grouped under the following categories, in order of importance:
- Appeal. This includes performance, design, comfort and features. (31%)
- Quality and reliability. (22%)
- Ownership costs. This includes fuel consumption, insurance and cost of service and repairs. (25%)
- Dealer service satisfaction. (22%)
The final result is expressed as a percentage score to reflect how satisfied owners are with their cars. The Superb scored 83% and the Yeti 82.8%, beating the previous winner, the Jaguar XF.
Among the attributes that pushed Škoda to the top of the list are how practical the cars are without compromising driving appeal.
