The objective of the ABS (Anti-lock Brake System) is to keep the car under control even during abrupt braking. The car with its wheels locked is uncontrollable, be it on slippery surface or dry tarmac. The Škoda ABS keeps the wheels rolling by reducing the braking force on individual wheels. This enables the driver to avoid the obstacle.

The ASR (Anti-Slip Regulation) ensures smooth starting and acceleration without the wheels spinning on slippery surfaces. The system automatically regulates the amount of wheel slippage on one or more driven wheels.

Based on the wheel speed, CBC (Cornering Brake Control) can detect dangerous situations when braking whilst cornering, understeer or oversteer, and can prevent drift by redistributing the brake pressure for each wheel separately.

DSR (Driver Steering Recommendation) makes it easier to keep the vehicle under control in critical situations, such as when braking on surfaces with varying adhesion. The power steering recommends the necessary direction and amount of steering movement to stabilise the vehicle.
