Voted New Zealand's most recommended car brand in the Consumer New Zealand 2017 Reliability Survey, by over 10,000 Kiwi owners, ŠKODA was also the most awarded car brand in New Zealand in 2017. Since then we have gone on to win international awards alongside the Stuff Top Small Car award in 2019 for our ŠKODA SCALA.
In November 2020, the New Zealand Police chose the ŠKODA SUPERB as the new frontline Police car. Joining the ŠKODA Auto family in providing more than 23,000 vehicles to police forces and emergency services around the world.

At the heart of our company is the ŠKODA head office, in the Czech Republic, where we’ve grown to become one of the largest companies and a key player in the economy. In fact, we employ over 23,500 people, working with a further 265 subcontractors. This makes up 7.5% of all exports out of the Czech Republic. In 1991, ŠKODA proudly joined the Volkswagen family. The Volkswagen Group is the largest car manufacturer globally. Volkswagen annually provides customers with an average of more than five million cars — about 12% of the world car market.
It’s a big family. The Group is made up of 12 brands from seven European countries: Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Audi, SEAT, ŠKODA, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, Ducati, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Scania and MAN.
As you’d expect, it gets very busy. The Group operates 100 production plants in 19 European countries and a further eight countries in the Americas, Asia and Africa. Most importantly, it’s supportive. Since ŠKODA became a member of the Volkswagen Group, the brand has more than quintupled its deliveries to 939,200 cars in 2012.
