Nationally and globally, ŠKODA is climbing to ever-greater heights. Voted New Zealand's most recommended car brand in the Consumer New Zealand 2017 Reliability Survey, by over 10,000 Kiwi owners, ŠKODA is also the most awarded car brand in New Zealand in 2017. Since then we have gone on to win international awards alongside the Stuff Top Small Car award in 2019 for our new ŠKODA SCALA.
All new ŠKODA models feature the unique crystalline design, a host of Simply Clever solutions, a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating, and with longer service intervals*, servicing may not be needed for up to two years.
ŠKODA KAMIQ MONTE CARLO
"Sometimes a car seems to sit just-right in that goldilocks zone of the market it’s designed for, and the Kamiq Monte Carlo is one of those cars. The balance of price and spec represents great value, it’s big enough but not too big, comfortable, looks good, and is well deserving of our Family Car of the Year title."
"While Scala embodies the many virtues of a small hatch, it also takes the fight to the SUVs in a number of ways. It has a massive 467-litre boot and the cabin reeks of the kind of clever touches you might normally associate with family focused SUVs."
"The Skoda Kodiaq is our Top Car for 2017. It's the Czech brand's first-ever seven-seat SUV and an outstanding effort. Award-winning, even. Very much a car for the times, of course: the Kiwi love affair with these types of high-riding vehicles seems to know no bounds. But Kodiaq is so much more than that. The value for money throughout the range is astonishing."
"It's supremely practical and unpretentious, but we also love to fact that Octavia is entertaining to drive no matter what model you choose."
“ŠKODA has presented the world with a great all round vehicle. While it’s clearly been built with the family in mind, the Kodiaq’s configuration, spaciousness and technology ensures the market has an affordable versatile choice that will endure..."

"This year we decided to institute an overall Car of the Year to recognise the best of the best, each category winner goes into the pool for this one, so whilst we have to compare apples and oranges, it is fairly easy to look at which vehicle has offered a point of difference to the market and stood out that bit more. Strikingly handsome, extremely practical and sharply priced Kodiaq is a winner!”
"Kodiaq’s styling is handsome without letting form overrule function so the big Skoda neatly defines what a medium-to-large, family-focus SUV should be. The Skoda Kodiaq has the key design features and logically structured model range that gets closest to being the ‘‘no buts’’ family SUV option.”
"The Kodiaq interior has a spacious feel with good leg room for the front and rear seats and reasonable space in the third row. The luggage area is generous with over 2000 litres of space when the rear seats are folded down. The modern and comfortable interior easily matches Volkswagen in terms of quality and design. It has thoroughly exceptional on road manners and is actually rather fun to throw around a winding road. The great looks, extreme practicality and sharp pricing only serve to make it even more compelling."
"On the road the Superb is wonderfully confident and assured, with a fantastic ride quality and surprisingly good handling for such a large car. While the segment may be shrinking, the Superb just keeps getting better, with this new generation model adding excellent dynamics to its already impressive arsenal of comfort, practicality and utterly immense interior space."

ŠKODA Wins six 'Family Car of the Year' awards in 2020 AUTO Straßenverkehr readers’ choice
"Readers of German specialist magazine AUTO Straßenverkehr voted ŠKODA models ‘Family Car of the Year’ in six categories. This meant the Czech manufacturer took home more awards than any other participating brand. A total of 128 vehicles competed in three different price ranges, which in turn were divided into the categories ‘Best Design’, ‘Best Technology’ and ‘Best Value for Money’. For each of these, the readers chose one winning import car and one overall winner. The OCTAVIA COMBI came out on top for ‘Best Design’ both as an import and overall for cars under 25,000 euros, and also won the import award for ‘Best Technology’ in its price range. The SUPERB COMBI was crowned ‘Best Value for Money’ both overall and as an import vehicle costing between 25,000 and 35,000 euros. It was also voted the import car with the ‘Best Technology’ in its category. ŠKODA has received a total of 34 awards since the first AUTO Straßenverkehr readers’ choice in 2011."
