Škoda iVs are also ‘iconic’ and ‘inspiring’ with their emotive design full of character. They are ‘individual’ in trim levels and customisation options. All Škoda iVs distinguish themselves with their ‘intuitive’ operation. The ‘V’ stands for vehicle.

Supporting environmental efforts

Our entry into the eMobility era is a key pillar of our “GreenFuture” sustainability strategy. Under that strategy, we have set specific environmental targets for our products and vehicle production. One example is the 30% reduction in our fleet’s CO_2 emissions between 2015 and 2025. The transformation from combustion engines to electric cars is an essential lever for this.

Battery electric vehicle (BEV)

Battery electric vehicles rely solely on electric motors for propulsion. They derive their electricity primarily from charging points and store it in battery packs. The key benefits of electric vehicles are that they emit no emissions, they run silently, offer nimble dynamics, and servicing them is not so complex.

Plug-in hybrid (PHEV)

What makes plug-in hybrid vehicles different from BEVs is that they combine a classic internal combustion engine with an electric motor which can be recharged from an electrical outlet. The PHEV can be driven in pure electric mode, but the range is limited to 50 to 60 kilometres. The result is low fuel consumption and a quiet electric drive, especially around the city.

A healthy environment

There’s no disputing the environmental benefits of eMobility: lowering our reliance on fossil fuels while producing less air pollution as we travel. People in cities with higher concentrations of electric cars also enjoy a much lower degree of noise pollution.

The value of going electric

eMobility isn’t only about saving the environment—it also comes with a healthy amount of savings for the wallet. With lower fuel and maintenance costs than cars with combustion engines, electric vehicles present a far more attractive value for owners.

Regenerative braking

When you drive a plug-in hybrid it makes the most of wasted energy. The energy created by braking is converted and stored in the Li-ion battery for later use.
